Kevin Garnett Edges Dirk Nowitzki as Better All-Around Power Forward Although Kevin Garnett has three more years of NBA experience on Dirk Nowitzki, the two veterans match up incredibly well and will go down as two of the best power forwards of their era.

Both are heading to Springfield when it's all said and done, but which one will be remembered as the better player?

Garnett is currently 22nd on the all-time NBA scoring list with 22,852 points (in 1,163 games) while Nowitzki is 24th with 22,016 (in 959 games). Separating them is Clyde Drexler and his 22,195 points — a mark Dirk is on pace to pass within eight games.

KG is known for his defense and gritty, in-your-face play. He has a ring, an MVP award and an NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.

Dirk, who is a more lethal scorer than KG, has one MVP award and has led the Mavs to at least 50 wins (an average of 56 wins per season) in each of the last 10 seasons. In 2006, he was finally able to lead the Mavs past the Spurs — their in-state rivals who were in the midst of their dynasty — to reach his first and only NBA Finals, where they fell to the Miami Heat.
