Red Sox fans aren’t the only ones eager for the 2011 season. Dustin Pedroia is ready to bounce back from a 2010 campaign that was curtailed by injury.

Spring training starts in only eight days, and Pedroia’s goal remains to “get focused on opening a can of whoop-ass” and bring back the “Laser Show.”

“It’s been a while. I’ve never been this excited,” Pedroia told WEEI. “Everyone’s obviously excited with the team we’re going to have. … Just going out there and going to work, I can’t wait.”

Sox fans never expect anything less than a World Series these days, and the same goes for Pedroia, but he feels this year’s team can be even better following a frantic offseason full of impressive additions.

“This year, it seems like it’s a little bit different because there’s so much talk about who we got in the offseason.

“Every year … we feel like we have a team that we can compete for the World Series,” Pedroia said.
