Red Sox Truck Day Hits Boston As Baseball World Gets Ready for Spring Training (Photos) It's been a rough winter for those in New England as snowstorm after snowstorm has left its mark on the northeast. Fittingly, as the Red Sox got ready to head south and open spring training, they did so under grey skies.

Tuesday meant "Truck Day" for Red Sox Nation as the team loaded up an 18-wheeler with all of the essentials needed for spring training. Even with rain falling from the Boston skies, fans still gathered to give the truck a proper send-off.

The truck will head south, down to Fort Myers, Fla., with pitchers and catchers set to report to spring training on Sunday, Feb. 13.
