The January transfer window came and went, and Anderlecht teen phenom Romelu Lukaku stayed in Belgium, despite a monstrous £25.2 million bid from Chelsea.

The Liverpool target, though, is still very much on the radar of England’s top clubs, as the Reds and the Blues are set to again vie for the “New Drogba’s” services in the summer, according to a Goal.co.uk exclusive.

“What happened on deadline day does not change anything,” said a source close to the Lukaku camp.

“We know which clubs are interested and Chelsea and Liverpool remain at the front of the queue.

“Both clubs are planning for the future and know that you need lots of top strikers and competition for places to win big trophies.”

Chelsea, though, would have to let one of their strikers go in order to make room for the 17-year-old Belgian, the source believes.

“Torres, Drogba, Anelka and Lukaku is one too many,” added the source. “But Torres, Anelka and Lukaku is perfect.”

Tottenham has also been linked to Lukaku, and Manchester City was even rumored to have agreed to a summer deal with the Chelsea supporter.

Lukaku, who has scored 14 goals this season, has repeatedly made clear his desire to play for one of England’s big clubs, and though he is a Chelsea fan, he is not set on playing at Stamford Bridge.
