Plaxico Burress is set to be released from prison on June 6 after two and a half years of incarceration, and he's looking to follow in Michael Vick's footsteps by making a successful NFL comeback.

That comeback, however, will likely not take place in New York, as Burress reportedly wishes to play somewhere warm, near his home in Miami, according to the New York Daily News.

Burress, who will be 34 in August, is also said to want to avoid the New York media by heading south. Miami, Tampa Bay and Jacksonville would seem obvious geographic fits, though the Dolphins have a similar player in Brandon Marshall and Tampa Bay features a promising, young receiving core with Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn. The Jaguars, however, are in dire need of a playmaker at the receiver position.

Burress has reportedly been staying in shape in prison, and given the success of Vick's comeback, it seems likely that some team will be willing to give him a second chance.
