Tomas Kaberle Excited to Be Playing for Same Storied Franchise as Childhood Hero Ray Bourque
As a child growing up in Czech Republic, Tomas Kaberle was surrounded by hockey. His father, Frantisek Sr., played minor league hockey in Europe, and often brought Tomas and his brother into the locker room after games.
Though he idolized his father while growing up, Kaberle had another hockey hero who played in the NHL -- Bruins legend Ray Bourque. The young Kaberle was a big fan of Bourque, who played in Boston for 21 years, and Kaberle's now excited to be wearing the same sweater as his childhood hero.
"It's a great team and at the same time it's a good city," Kaberle said of Boston. "Growing up, my hero was Raymond Bourque who played for Boston for many years. It's kind of neat to be on the same team right now."
