Adrian Gonzalez, Cliff Lee Among Top 10 Story Lines to Follow This Season

As much as or even more than any other sport, baseball is difficult to predict. Big dogs such as the Yankees and Red Sox always seem to be in the mix and their players always candidates for individual honors, but the sport has shown itself to spread the wealth.

Nine different teams have won the World Series in the last 10 years, during which 14 different teams have reached the Fall Classic.

For all we know, the Oakland A's could defeat the Colorado Rockies in the 2011 World Series. It might sound like a stretch right now, but there are enough games played in baseball that its championship never seems fluky.

What we can do is predict what to watch for. There will always be storylines that will grab us from start to finish, regardless of what they mean in the standings. With less than a week to go before the regular season begins, here are 10 storylines that could make headlines from April through October.
