While Shaquille O'Neal has missed the Celtics' past 13 games and 25 altogether, optimism had grown that the future Hall of Famer would soon recover from his Achilles injury incurred last month.

Now, though, he has suffered another setback, as soreness in his right foot has reemerged, and according to CSNNE, he will be out indefinitely.

Doc Rivers has acknowledged that he has no idea as to the timeframe for O'Neal's return.

"[O'Neal] worked out with us the other day," Rivers said. "Some of the pain returned."

According to trainer Ed Lacerte, things don't look good for the immediate future.

"Eddie just said don't expect him anytime soon," Rivers said.

With Kendrick Perkins no longer a Celtic and Jermaine O'Neal equally hampered by injury, Boston will need a healthy O'Neal to fill the void of a physically dominant center in the lineup come playoff time.
