Matt Light’s Job Likely Safe for Now, As Nate Solder Needs Time to Develop at NFL Level (Podcast)

The first reaction of most football fans in New England when the Patriots drafted Nate Solder was something along the lines of, "See you later, Matt Light."

Such thoughts, though, may be premature, as NESN.com Patriots reporter Jeff Howe explains.

Jeff talked with Michael Hurley on Friday after the first round of the 2011 NFL draft, saying that Solder likely needs a year to develop at the NFL level. That means the Patriots could (and probably should) keep Light aboard for at least another season.

Jeff also details his surprise that Bill Belichick didn't select Cameron Jordan, why the Bengals might have made the worst pick of the draft in A.J. Green, why the Patriots passed on Mark Ingram and the chances of Belichick hanging on to that No. 33 pick (hint: not very high).
