Keisuke Honda's impressive performances in the 2010 World Cup and 2009-10 Champions League made the Japanese playmaker a highly sought-after transfer target for many of Europe's top clubs, including Liverpool, but after nearly a year of speculation, his agent has revealed that the talk won't be coming to fruition.

According to Sport.co.uk, Kees Ploegsma has said that the £9 million 24-year-old will be staying with CSKA Moscow.

"There is no progress with Keisuke (Honda). He is a CSKA Moscow player and he will stay a CSKA Moscow player." he said.

"The simple fact is he has a contract at CSKA Moscow and he will be honouring that and staying with the club. I can tell you nothing more than he will be staying in Moscow."

Honda signed a four-year deal with the Army Men in 2010. There is, of course, the possibility that this statement from Honda's agent is simply intended to raise the asking price for the rising star.
