This play probably won't make the highlight reel.

Wayne Rooney was suspended two games from the Football Association Monday, according to the BBC.

Rooney's suspension was all but certain after swearing into a camera against West Ham upon completing a hat trick recently.

The suspension will keep Rooney out of the FA Cup semifinal against rival Manchester City, scheduled for April 16.

Rooney has publicly apologized and his teammates have also stood up for him. Defender Rio Ferdinand said that fans should "give Wayne a break" and that "he knows what he did was wrong."

The stellar striker has until Tuesday to either accept the ban or attend a hearing, which would take place Wednesday.
