Yankees Catcher Russell Martin Paints Fingernails Bright Yellow, Shows Off Picture on Twitter

Catchers aren't usually known to be the flashy types, but don't tell that to the Yankees' Russell Martin, who paints the nails on his throwing hand before every game.

The trend started this past February in spring training, Martin said in an interview/manicure session with ESPN's Amy K. Nelson, when he began painting his fingernails to allow pitchers to read his signs more clearly.

The nail polish is hard to see during games, but Martin's newest paint job may be a bit more noticeable. Here's a shot of Martin's "magic fingers" from his Twitter account, and they are pretty vibrant to say the least.
