Adrian Gonzalez has been clobbering the ball for the Red Sox this season, and White Sox reliever Jesse Crain can personally attest to just how hard Gonzalez can hit.

Crain took a line drive off the back from Gonzalez in the eighth inning of Chicago's 7-3 win on May 30. He managed to corall the ball and throw Gonzalez out at first, but the pain forced him to leave the game.

The play also left Crain with a massive purple bruise on his torso, and after seeing it, you can understand why he needed to leave the game.

Here's a photo of the bruise from Crain's Twitter account. Not for the faint of heart.
