Mavericks Guard DeShawn Stevenson Calls Miami Heat ‘Classless’ After NBA Finals Win

DeShawn Stevenson took one last shot at LeBron James and the Miami Heat Sunday after his Mavericks won Game 6 of the NBA Finals and were crowned 2011 champions.

"It makes me feel good, man, to beat him, to beat that Miami team," Stevenson told ESPNDallas.com. "The way they act, the way they treated Dirk [Nowitzki], all the things that they said were very classless. To win on the court the way we did it, it was wonderful."

Stevenson, whose unfriendly history with James goes all the way back to 2008 when his Washington Wizards played James's Cleveland Caveliers in the playoffs, thought that James and Dwyane Wade were disrespectful to his teammate, Nowitzki, when they mocked his sickness by coughing in front of television cameras before Game 5.

Stevenson was bothersome to the Heat the entire series — from his tough defense on James to calling him and Wade "great, great actors" and his Game 6 scuffle with Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers.

"I think we did it with class," said Stevenson. "They tried all kind of different things, and made fun of us and were on the go-karts laughing after Game 1 like they already won the championship. To beat them on their court, it feels good."
