Florida isn't exactly a location that's regarded as a hockey hotbed. But that didn't stop the Bruins from drafting Jacksonville native Brian Ferlin in the fourth round of this year's NHL draft (No. 121 overall).

The 19-year-old, who is set to take his talent to Cornell University, played the last two seasons with the Indiana Ice of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

He said that growing up playing hockey in Florida required him to do a lot of traveling, but with the support of his father, he was able to make it work.

Ferlin considers himself to be a power forward who will battle in the corners, while also using his speed.

He said that his favorite player is Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks and, while he admitted he's not quite on Getlaf's level, he hopes to someday join him as an NHL All-Star.
