Tim Donaghy: LeBron James Flopped 'Like a Fish Out of Water,' Made Sure to 'Check Out the Ladies' in Game 6 of Finals If this past season of NBA basketball has taught us anything, it's that LeBron James is certainly a lighting rod for controversy. Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy is the same. Put the two together, and you've got some high-quality entertainment.

That's exactly what Deadspin.com did, as they had the embattled ex-ref break down the officiating throughout the NBA Finals, as he has in the past. For those who rooted hard for the Dallas Mavericks over the Miami Heat for the simple reason that they wanted to see LeBron fail, the Donaghy analysis borders on pure gold.

Donaghy made mention of James a few times when breaking down Game 6, but a couple of mentions were harsher than others. Take his observation just a few minutes into the first half on Sunday night.

"Good no-call as James drives into the paint," Donaghy writes. "This is not a foul; James is just flopping all over the place like a fish out of water. The officials saw the flopping he did in Game 5, and that must've been an embarrassment for them."

Donaghy also picked up something watching James in the final seconds, and what he saw had absolutely nothing to do with what was happening on the court.

"No call here, just an observation: Check out James as the woman in the red tank top runs past him prior to the inbounds play. She also catches the eye of the referee on the baseline. James is on the verge of losing the series, but he still has time to check out the ladies."

For what it's worth, though, Donaghy also said that the referees made the right call when LeBron got into position to draw a charge on Dallas' Tyson Chandler. So LeBron's got that, at least.
