Vancouver’s Daniel Sedin Backs Off Stanley Cup Victory Guarantee

Not that the Boston Bruins needed any more motivation to win the Stanley Cup, but Daniel Sedin may have added another log to the fire following Game 6 when he guaranteed a victory in Game 7. But now, ESPN is reporting that Sedin is taking back his statements.

"You know, that was probably me being excited and the words came wrong out of my mouth. What I said was if we put our best game on the ice, I like our chances. That's the way it's been all year," said Sedin to ESPN.

What has been a dismal Cup Final for Daniel (1 goal, 1 assist, minus-1) has been even worse for his brother Henrik Sedin (1 goal, plus-1). However, Game 7 heroics could erase their performances from the first six games of the series.

This isn't exactly a great time to be showing doubt, though.
