What Team Won Your Favorite Drought-Ending Championship in Boston? Sports fans in Boston have been a bit spoiled since the turn of the century, but it hasn’t always been Duck Boat parades and stogies here in the Hub.

Ask any Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics or Patriots fan over the age of 25, and they’ll be able to share stories of heartache, heart attacks and heartless enemies stealing crowns from our beloved teams’ grips.

The Red Sox famously went through a title-less drought that lasted nearly 90 years before a group of idiots took the crown in 2004.

The Patriots, having never won the big game in franchise history, shocked the world in 2001 when they beat the Greatest Show on Turf in New Orleans.

Arguably the most storied franchise in the history of sports, the Celtics, won 16 titles in 29 years before falling into a funk from 1987-2007. The C’s finally raised banner No. 17 in 2008 to end the drought and bring the team back into annual title talks.

On Wednesday night, the Bruins — the Black and Gold darlings of the city of Boston — took home the Stanley Cup for the first time since 1972. Although it’s a little bittersweet that guys like Ray Bourque and Cam Neely were never able to win a Cup in Boston, no fan base or organization deserves a Cup more than the Bruins.
