Which Member of Red Sox Was Best Player of the Week? While the Bruins have been fighting for Lord Stanley's Cup, the Red Sox have been on an absolute roll.

Outside of a close call on Saturday afternoon that required 14 innings of work, the Red Sox have made short work of their opponents. They swept away the Oakland A's before heading into Yankee Stadium, where they swept the Yankees for the second straight series in the Bronx.

The end result is the Sox sitting in first place, two full games ahead of New York heading into the weekend.

It's been a team effort, but who's been the best in the past six games?

David Ortiz, though he was unhappy about getting plunked on Thursday night, has been in a good mood lately. He's hitting .435 over the past six games, with two homers, eight RBIs, a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.370 OPS. He's raised his season batting average to .326, and he's looking like the Ortiz of old.

Adrian Gonzalez has been just as hot, hitting .400 with two homers and nine RBIs over the last six games. Throw in a pair of doubles and a triple, and he's got a 1.264 OPS over that same period.

Then there is Jacoby Ellsbury. The speedster led off every game in New York with a hit — home run, single, single — and had multiple hits in every game as well. In the past six games, he's had multiple hits in four of them, including a four-hit game against the A's. In all, he's batted a ridiculous .448 in that span, driving in five runs and stealing five bases.

It's a tough call, but who was the player of the week?
