The 1946 Red Sox are still known for having one of the best offenses in team history, and fittingly, most of the credit for that goes to Ted Williams. The Splendid Splinter was something else, but he wasn't the only member of that lineup who could swing it.

In Game 3 of the "Red Sox Showdown for the Ages" final against the 2003 Sox, it was Dom DiMaggio who stole the show at the plate, delivering an early blow to help his team get back into the series. DiMaggio homered in the first inning to give the '46 team an early lead on their way a 5-3 win in the best-of-seven series. With the win, the '46 team now trails the series only 2-1.

While DiMaggio got the scoring going, Johnny Pesky continued his incredible series thus far, going 3-for-5 to raise his average to .538 while driving in a pair of runs.

Meanwhile, Mickey Harris did something for the 1946 team that no one could do before him — shut down the 2003 offense. Harris went 6 2/3 innings, giving up just three runs while striking out eight.
