FOXBORO, Mass. — Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth made his debut on the practice field Sunday morning during the Patriots' walkthrough, which was their sixth session of training camp.
Haynesworth, who looked leaner than expected, acted as more of an observer during the practice. He wasn't very active in drills, but he watched the defense while stationed in the hip pocket of defensive line coach Pepper Johnson.
Left guard Logan Mankins also joined the team on the field for the first time, though Mankins can't participate due to the league's post-lockout rules about contracts. Mankins wore a gray sleeveless T-shirt and stayed close to the offensive line during drills.
Defensive lineman Myron Pryor made his debut, too. It's unclear why he missed the first five practices of camp.
Running back Eric Kettani was the only mysterious absentee Sunday morning. The other 10 absent players are waiting to resolve their own contractual issues, either with the Patriots or the NFL.
Those players were cornerback Kyle Arrington, safety Brandon McGowan, running back Kevin Faulk, running back Sammy Morris, running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, linebacker Tracy White, defensive lineman Steve Williams, left tackle Nate Solder, cornerback Ras-I Dowling and running back Shane Vereen.
The Patriots will practice again Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
