Dick Williams, the manager of the Red Sox' 1967 "Impossible Dream" team, has died. He was 82.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Williams passed away in his Las Vegas home on Thursday from what was believed to be a brain aneurysm.

The Hall of Fame manager is the only manager in major league history to win pennants with three different teams, but it's the pennant he won in his first season as a manager that will be remembered most in Boston. Williams led the Sox to the 1967 World Series in his first year at the helm after the team posted a 92-70 record in the regular season before falling to the Cardinals in the World Series.

Williams won two World Series, both with the Oakland Athletics, in 1972 and 1973. Williams also won the National League pennant in 1984 with the San Diego Padres.
