Patrick Cote, a former left winger for the Edmonton Oilers, Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars, has turned himself in to authorities.

Charged with violating probation on a drug-related conviction, Cote turned himself in at the border crossing in northern New York, according to Malone Police Chief Chris Premo.

The 36-year-old who had six years of NHL experience is being held in the Franklin County Jail without bail. He was arrested in 2002 after police found 30 pounds of marijuana in his car. The Quebec native pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of conspiracy, but two years later a New York judge issued a warrant for his arrest when he failed to report to Canadian probation officials.
