New England Patriots’ 1990 Squad Included in NBC Sports List Of Worst Sports Teams in History

The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccanners, 1962 New York Mets and 1990 New England Patriots all had one thing in common: They were terrible teams.

The '76 season was the inaugural season for the Bucs and one they wish they could erase. Tampa Bay went 0-14 in its first season, and 0-12 to start its second season before finally posting a win.

The most famous moment of that inaugural season came when coach John McKay was asked to comment on his team's execution.

"I'm in favor of it," McKay replied.

A .250 batting average is somewhat respectable. A .250 winning percentage is not. That was the case for the '62 Mets. And despite a 1-1 start to the '90 season, New England didn't post another win that year.

In a city recently accustomed to winning championships, being associated with a list of worst sports teams of all time seems impossible. However, NBC sports did a great job of reminding New England fans just how good we have it, and just how bad we once had it as well.
