Vote: What Is Most Interesting Storyline Heading Into Patriots Training Camp? Football is finally back, and now that the celebration has subsided, it's time to get down to business. That's exactly what the Patriots will do on Thursday when they open training camp.

There will be plenty to keep an eye on not only at Patriots camp, but around the league, as there is now a rush to put teams together and get them out on the practice field. That sense of urgency is only heightened with the first slate of preseason games just a week away.

The Patriots have been somewhat quiet during the first couple of days of free agency. They cut ties with Tully Banta-Cain and they re-signed Sammy Morris, but there's still plenty of reason to believe they're not done their roster posturing. As is usually the case, the organization as a whole have played their cards pretty close to the vest, but all of that could change in an instant. If and when those free agents do sign, they'll join the incoming rookie class in scrambling to get to know the complex system before the season gets going.

The progress of free agents and rookies won't be the only thing monitored at camp. It will also be interesting to see how players who were injured in 2010 respond, as they try to ready themselves in a shorter time period. Sure, they've been rehabbing all offseason, but it will be worth noting the process of players like Leigh Bodden, Mike Wright and Myron Pryor, and the emerging storyline surrounding Kevin Faulk as he comes back from a knee injury is a fascinating one.

A few of those injuries — and maybe a signing or two — will likely go a long way in determining what will happen with arguably the biggest question mark surrounding the Pats. It's no secret that they need to improve the pass rush, but how they'll do that exactly is still unknown. Bill Belichick will probably try to pull out all the stops to improve that pass rush, but free agency is always a potential avenue.
