FOXBORO, Mass. — Running back Danny Woodhead and left guard Dan Connolly returned to the practice field Sunday for the Patriots.

Woodhead missed Saturday's practice due to the birth of his daughter, Gia, and Connolly hadn't practiced since injuring his right elbow last Tuesday.

The Patriots were still without 21 players at Sunday's session — the 17th practice of training camp and the ninth in full pads. A large chunk of the practice was held at half speed before the intensity increased during 11-on-11 drills.

Tom Brady continued his hot streak with the offense, connecting with Chad Ochocinco for a pair of very impressive touchdown passes, including one that went for about 50 yards.

Left tackle Matt Light, who debuted at practice Saturday, participated in drills for the first time Sunday.

Wide receiver Taylor Price, cornerback Malcolm Williams, running back Eric Kettani, linebacker Christian Cox, linebacker Jeff Tarpinian, linebacker Brandon Spikes, offensive lineman Marcus Cannon, offensive lineman Ryan Wendell, offensive lineman Zach Roth, defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth and defensive lineman Mike Wright were all absent.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman, wide receiver Brandon Tate, cornerback Ras-I Dowling, running back Shane Vereen, running back Kevin Faulk, safety James Sanders, safety Josh Barrett, defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick, defensive lineman Shaun Ellis and defensive lineman Ron Brace worked out to the side.
