If Saturday is any indication, Jed Lowrie is ready to return to the Red Sox.
Starting at shortstop for Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday, Lowrie went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two RBIs and a run scored as the PawSox rolled over the Buffalo Bisons, 11-1.
The switch-hitting shortstop is expected to have a down day on Sunday, before joining the Red Sox in Minnesota for the start of their six-game road trip on Monday, according to MLB.com's Ian Browne.
Lowrie finished 7-for-17 during a five-game rehab assignment at Pawtucket. Saturday marked the first time that Lowrie's played a full game for Pawtucket during the stint.
The 27-year-old has been on the disabled list since July 17 with a right shoulder injury. He was initially injured on May 29 after colliding with left fielder Carl Crawford, bust he stayed in the Sox lineup for a couple of weeks before eventually landing on the DL.
Lowrie is hitting .270 with three home runs and 25 RBIs in 55 games for the Red Sox this season.
