Mark Recchi Gets Immortalized in Hometown With Unveiling of 'Mark Recchi Way' Following a successful 22-year NHL career, Mark Recchi vowed to "sail off into the sunset" when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in June, the third of Recchi's career.

On Saturday, Rex got his day with the Cup, bringing it back to his hometown of Kamloops, B.C., and was honored with the unveiling of Mark Recchi Way, a street named after the 43-year-old champion. He posted photos of the new street signs on Twitter.

Recchi spent part of his day with the Cup at a luncheon for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. He serves as an ambassador for a fundraiser to build a new intensive care unit at the hospital, and has already donated $100,000 to the facility's cancer ward.

In between cutting cake at the luncheon, Recchi took time to snap pictures with his sons Austin and Cameron as well as the Royal Mountie Patrol.
