After suffering a neck injury during Saturday’s loss to the Lions, Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker was telling his teammates Monday that he's "fine."

Welker injured his neck late in the second quarter when he planted Lions safety Ricardo Silva with a hard tackle following Tom Brady's interception. Welker sat on the bench for the final minute of the quarter and didn't appear to receive any medical attention. However, he stayed in the locker room at halftime, when the Patriots announced the injury.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick did not offer an update on Welker's status during Monday's conference call, but Welker's teammates said they spoke with him at the facility Monday when he passed along his positive self-prognosis.
