FOXBORO, Mass. — Linebacker Brandon Spikes, defensive end Jermaine Cunningham and tackle Sebastian Vollmer will make their regular-season debuts Sunday against the Chargers.
Linebacker Gary Guyton (hamstring), center Dan Koppen (fibula) and defensive lineman Mike Wright (concussion) will miss their first action of the season. Guyton's absence might be the most surprising of the Patriots' seven inactives
Wide receiver Taylor Price (hamstring), offensive lineman Ryan Wendell (calf), quarterback Ryan Mallett and running back Shane Vereen are also inactive. Mallett and Vereen are healthy scratches.
Price, Wendell, Mallett and Vereen have not been active yet this season.
