Bruins Cup Rewind: Brad Marchand Breaks Out in B's Stanley Cup Run
Editor's note: NESN is counting down the top 50 moments of the Bruins' 2011 Stanley Cup season. Every day from Aug. 17 to Oct. 5, a memorable moment from the 2011 season will air on NESN Daily and be posted on NESN.com.
Bruins fans were pleasantly surprised all season long by the play of Brad Marchand. So much, in fact, that B's fans voted the pesky forward the 7th Player Award winner at season's end.
However, the respect and admiration Marchand earned during the regular season was nothing compared to what happened in the playoffs. Marchand brought his game to the next level in the playoffs, scoring 11 goals in the Bruins' run to their first Stanley Cup in 39 years.
Marchand really turned it on in the Stanley Cup Final, as he sparked the Bruins to wins, scoring crucial goals and getting under the skin of the Canucks to help the B's gain a mental advantage as well.
