FOXBORO, Mass. — Running back Kevin Faulk is the longest-tenured member of the Patriots, so he knows a thing or two about the inner workings of the organization.

One of New England's greatest characteristics during the last decade has been its ability to respond after a loss. Quarterback Tom Brady has won 18 of his last 20 regular-season games after a loss, and he is 25-6 overall after a defeat.

Faulk said it speaks to the level of determination by the personalities within the locker room to regroup after falling short on the scoreboard. It's not that they're any more committed to victory, but they are driven to prove they're better than their most recent performance.

"When you get knocked down, the automatic thing you want to do is turn around and prove that you're better than what happened before," Faulk said. "It's getting knocked down and wanting to prove, 'Hey, look, what happened last week, we're better than that. We're a better football team than that.' We want to go out there and show it and play that way."
