FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots' left guard Logan Mankins returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session with an illness, but defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth sat out another session with a presumed back ailment.

Haynesworth missed two practices last week and didn't play against the Bills, but he returned to the field Wednesday. He declined to speak to reporters in the locker room prior to Thursday's practice. It's the fourth practice Haynesworth has missed in the regular season.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez (knee) and tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back) missed their fifth consecutive practices, placing their status in doubt for the weekend trip to Oakland. Defensive lineman Mike Wright missed his eighth consecutive practice with a concussion.

The Patriots' 13th regular-season practice, not including walkthroughs, was conducted in shorts and shells for the 10th time.
