Theo Epstein Says Relationship With Terry Francona Evolved Over Years Together

The Red Sox brought Terry Francona in almost 10 years ago prior to the 2004 season to signal the start of a new era following Grady Little.

The move proved to be a fruitful one for the organization, as Francona helped deliver two World Series titles in eight years at the helm. Now that Francona is no longer the manager, general manager Theo Epstein reflected on their relationship.

Epstein said that not only was the relationship a good one, but it also evolved over the years to the point where Francona took an interest in the big-picture view, and vice versa.
