Wes Welker Dealing With Life in Locker Room Between Two Gronkowskis FOXBORO, Mass. — Wes Welker is stuck in the middle of a Gronk sandwich.

Life got a little more interesting this week for Welker when he realized his locker would be in the middle of the Gronkowski brothers. Dan Gronkowski, the Patriots' new addition, has a locker to the left of Welker's, and Rob Gronkowski's stall is two to the right. Tight end Aaron Hernandez is also sandwiched between the Gronkowskis.

The Patriots have long since been affectionate of Rob Gronkowski's goofy personality, but they've learned over the last few days that Dan is a little more reserved, at least on the surface.

"I thought it was going to be very interesting, like I was going to have two idiots right next to me on both sides," said Welker, who actually had to stop mid-sentence to contain his laughter. "But the other one is actually pretty bright. I was actually surprised. But no, they're great. You love playing with those guys, so we're going to have some fun with them, and hopefully win some ball games and hopefully start with Miami."

Dan Gronkowski met with the New England media for the first time Friday and displayed that calmer, quieter personality. When asked about the similarities between himself and his younger brother, he only mentioned their hardworking attitude and love for football, deflecting inquiries about their off-the-field life.

"There's no celebrating or anything right now. It's all business," Dan Gronkowski said. "It's not like I came in during the offseason where I could have some fun or something with him. It's just straight business, and all we're thinking about is football."
