It's a rather impressive feat, as it's the longest such streak in MLB history, which leads us to wonder when, exactly, this run is going to end.
With the Red Sox in first place, and with a core group set to remain on the roster for several years, it's unlikely they fall so far out of baseball relevance that the fans will stop coming any time soon. So we had to get a little creative in trying to nail down a date.
There's Dec. 21, 2012. You may know this date as the end of the world as we know it, according to the Mayan calendar. If the world does in fact end, then so, too, will the streak.
Or maybe, with Fenway Park celebrating its 100th anniversary, it might take another hundred years to stop the streak. That would put the end date at April 20, 2112. We don't think Terry Francona will be managing anymore at that point.
