In seven seasons with the New York Mets, pitcher Al Leiter would have had plenty of time to explore every nook and cranny of the Mets clubhouse.

Somewhere in the catacombs of Shea Stadium, there may or may not have been a “porn room,” if a question by Dan Patrick and a stumbling non-answer by Leiter are to be believed.

“Why do you ask like you don’t know?” Leiter asked in response to a question on The Dan Patrick Show about the possibly apocryphal existence of a “porn room” at the Mets’ former home.

Leiter had other things to say. He seemed to harken back to the good old days when players would play hung over and “sleep” in “nooks and crannies” in the clubhouse.

“It was part of it,” Leiter said. “I think now, these guys are robots. A lot of them have no personality.”

“I say it often with guys I played with, not that I played way back, but I say, ‘These guys aren’t having fun,'” Leiter said.
