Midway through the eight-game pro-set final between Andre Agassi and Jim Courier in the Staples Champions Cup at TD Garden, Courier handed his racket to ballboy Jimmy Ye.

Ye, 16, then faced a serve from Agassi and drilled a forehand winner back at him.

"That my have been the loudest ovation of the evening, and it was certainly something that young man will never forget," Courier said.

Agassi defeated Courier, 8-5, in the championship match Saturday to move into a tie for second place in the 2011 Champions Series rankings. Agassi, Courier and Michael Chang are tied with 800 points each behind Pete Sampras, who has 900 points.

The top three finishers on the tour split a $1 million bonus.
