Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck gets slightly different treatment than the rest of his teammates.

Whether it's after football games, before practice or in hotels, the 6-foot-4 quarterback is bombarded with autograph requests from fans, the Mercury News reports. Demand for Luck resulted in added security measures, and a golf cart now secretly transports the star to a different location after football games to avoid fans.

"The older I've gotten, the more I understand that sometimes you have to take extra steps," Luck told the Mercury News.

Once, after a team autograph session, Luck and teammate Shayne Skov spent an extra two hours signing autographs for every fan left in line.

But the time-consuming nature of signing autographs isn't the only reason why Stanford athletics wants to keep the young quarterback away from the fans. Stanford athletics representative Jim Young said he believed some fans waiting for autographs worked for others who were trying to profit off the autographed gear through sales.

The Mercury News added that Luck is supposed to be the first Bay Area athlete to demand that much attention since basketball star Jason Kidd.
