Conan O'Brien is a Red Sox fan, so it isn't surprising that he was a bit upset after watching the final chapter of their historic collapse on Wednesday night. But a tweet he fired out shortly after has upset some Tampa natives, including a local radio host, Mike "Cowhead" Calta.

After watching the Sox lose to the Orioles and the Rays complete their amazing comeback against the Yankees, which resulted in Tampa winning the American League wild card, O'Brien tweeted: "Remember, Red Sox fans, they still have to live in Tampa."

As you'd expect, some Tampa locals didn't take too kindly to the comedian's comment. In addition to receiving some hostile tweets from fans, he was also the recipient of some tweets from Calta. Calta made an explicit hashtag referencing the late-night talk show host and posted tweets with the number to O'Brien's offices, as well as the personal cell phone number of O'Brien's publicist, Drew Shane.

O'Brien responded with an apology — kind of.

O'Brien issued another tweet that said: "I want to apologize to all the people of Tampa for my last tweet. I'm sure Tampa is a fine place to live, if you're a mosquito."

Take that, Cowhead.
