Cowboys Fans Flood Gillette Stadium for Game Against Patriots

FOXBORO, Mass. — As 60 some-odd thousand fans drove down Route 1 on their way to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, they couldn't help but notice an influx of silver and blue lining the sidewalks and parking lots.

Cowboys jerseys were no challenge to find surrounding the stadium, proving that despite no Super Bowl championships for a decade and a half, Dallas has fans everywhere.

When the gates first opened about two hours before kickoff, it was mostly fans wearing DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten and Tony Romo jerseys who made their way down to field level. There was even a Drew Bledsoe jersey from his days in Big D, and a Roger Staubach jersey from his days in Navy. That's hardcore.

It's an inexact science to try to estimate exactly what percentage of the crowd is supporting the visiting team, but it's definitely a larger contingent than the Jets had last week, and it might be the biggest visiting crowd Gillette has seen in recent years. The Ravens and Steelers do generally draw significant fan support on their trips to Foxboro, as well.

The Cowboys have not visited New England since 2003, when Bill Parcells' team lost 12-0 to Bill Belichick's. Eight years later, there are no Quincy Carter jerseys in the stadium.
