Manchester United is following up last year's championship run with an even more impressive start to the current campaign, currently unbeaten after seven matches.

That has Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham full of praise for his former side.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revamped his squad this season, breaking in a bevy of young players such as Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and David de Gae. The youthful United roster reminds many observers of 1995, when Ferguson blooded in his young "fledglings," a group of prodigious youngsters which included Beckham, and created the foundation of his United side which dominated for a little over a decade.

Now, with a new crop of talented youngsters filling up United's team sheet, it seems as though Ferguson is trying to prime United for another decade of success.

"Sir Alex Ferguson always does it," Beckham said.

"As soon as you think that the team are getting a little bit older, he changes it and he brings a whole new team through. As a Manchester United fan it's exciting to see; the young players that are coming through, the players that have been there for a few years. It's great."

“There's many players; Welbeck is scoring goals, Chicharito, is so sharp. It's exciting to watch players like that. I hope they go and win it all."

Beckham left United for Real Madrid in 2003, although he returned to Old Trafford to play against United as a member of A.C. Milan in the 2010 Champions League, and remains one of the club's most recognized figures.
