"Suck for Luck" campaigns across the NFL have been a source of comedy for some of the worst teams in the league, but don't expect Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby to join in on the laughs.

At 0-5, the chatter has already begun that the Dolphins could be the front-runners for the first overall pick and the rights to draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. Dansby takes the chatter to heart.

"It's not right, bro. It's not right," Dansby said, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "We put too much into this, man, to have the fans say that — period, point blank — or even promote that campaign. It's kind of sad."

It's hard to blame Dol-fans for wanting a legitimate quarterback after enduring 12 years of a revolving door that's included 16 different starting quarterbacks — Jay Fiedler, Damon Huard, Ray Lucas, Brian Griese, A.J. Feeley, Sage Rosenfels, Gus Frerotte, Joey Harrington, Daunte Culpepper, Cleo Lemon, Trent Green, John Beck, Chad Pennington, Chad Henne, Tyler Thigpen and Matt Moore.

None of that matters to Dansby, though, and with his logic, who could blame him? After all, it's not his fault the Dolphins haven't been able to find a quarterback for the past 12 years.

"I put too many hours into this," added Dansby, "put too many years into this, sacrificed too much to ask somebody to put that stipulation on me and my teammates. Because I know how much we put into this."

He's obviously fired up about it, but he may be a little jaded about it, too.

"Man, we got 11 games. What are you talking about?" Dansby said. "We can't look at next season. We've got 11 games. We can win 'em out, and then what? Then you'd be biting your tongue. Those guys that are saying that are fair-weather fans. They're not real Dolphins fans."

According to a poll on the Sun-Sentinel's website, 78 percent of Dolphins fans endorse the "Suck for Luck" campaign.
