Former Red Wing Darren McCarty Misquotes Al Michaels While Watching World Series, Asks 'Do You Believe in Destiny?'The World Series game on Thursday night brought back dramatic memories of past great games in baseball history. But for former Red Wings forward Darren McCarty, it also brought back memories of a certain historic hockey game … but with a twist.

"Al Michaels quote 'Do You Believe in Destiny' comes to mind even with the score being tied," McCarty tweeted during the late innings of the Cardinals-Rangers game.

Obviously, the correct quote is "Do you believe in miracles?" but McCarty later defended his word choice, claiming some artistic freedom.

"I changed it because Miracles=hockey," he clarified to a follower. "I guessed what he would say if it was baseball=destiny. Thx for playin."

No Darren, thank you.
