The NFL announced Wednesday that 5,000 fans will be able to attend media day during the week prior to the Super Bowl, which takes place Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

NFL senior vice president of events Frank Supovitz said the league has considered allowing fans into the event, which attracts roughly 3,000 media members, for the past few years. This year's event is scheduled for Jan. 31.

Tickets will be available for purchase in early December. Prices have not been announced, but Supovitz says they will be "affordable."

In addition to being admitted into the event, fans will also receive a gift bag, which includes a radio which will allow them to listen to individual interviews from podium microphones.
