FOXBORO, Mass. — Quarterback Tom Brady missed his second straight day of practice Wednesday for undisclosed reasons.

Brady seemed fine in the locker room, so it wouldn't be surprising if he just received a couple days of rest before the Patriots broke camp for the bye-week vacation. Prior to practice, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn't even acknowledge Brady's absence from Tuesday's blue-and-white scrimmage.

"I don't know," Belichick said. "Was he out there yesterday?"

When Belichick was told that Brady was not spotted by reporters during the early session of Tuesday's practice, Belichick responded, "I didn't take roll, so I don't know. The guys who were out there were out there. The ones that weren't, weren't."

Since the Patriots are on a bye week, they don't have to release an injury report.

Left tackle Matt Light, cornerback Ras-I Dowling and linebacker Dane Fletcher were also absent from practice, which was held in shorts and shells inside the Dana-Farber Field House due to the rain. It marked the Patriots' 50th practice since they reported for training camp, not including regular-season walkthroughs. It was the 22nd practice of the regular season and the 17th time they were in shorts and shells.

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth returned to practice after missing Tuesday's session.
