Vote: Who Will Be the Bruins' MVP This Season? It’s hard to pick an MVP from a team so rich with talent. Last year alone the Bruins benefited from a wealth of players who stepped up in the regular season and the playoffs. If it wasn’t goalkeeper Tim Thomas, it was forwards Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand or captain Zdeno Chara leading the charge for Boston.

Heading into the 2011-12 season, the Bruins have retained most of their 2010-11 roster. Along with that comes plenty of players who could step up for Boston and earn MVP status. Chara is always an MVP choice, as the 6-foot-9 defenseman leads the Bruins on ice with his physical play. He might not fight often, but he hits when he needs to and adds an offensive touch to Boston’s blue line.

Patrice Bergeron is another option. No. 37 recorded 57 points in the playoffs and added another 20 in the playoffs en route to kissing the Stanley Cup. Bergeron, who has been a member of the Bruins since 2003-04, has impacted the Bruins a little more each year.

It’s hard to rule out David Krejci and Lucic, as they led the Bruins in points with 62 each. Krejci’s scoring touch has proved valuable in the past, and Lucic always manages to provide the Bruins with a spark when needed, whether it be through a goal, hit or fight.

Then there’s Thomas — the man who backstopped the Bruins all the way to a Cup victory. In addition to some stellar saves throughout the season and playoffs, the Michigan native brought home his second Vezina Trophy after recording a 2.00 goals-against average.

Boston isn’t lacking powerful players, but which one will ultimately become the team’s MVP?
