Deion Branch Says He Saw Fireman Ed While Mocking His Famous Chant With Touchdown DanceEAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch has never been afraid to stick it to the Jets, and he targeted their most famous fan during Sunday's 37-16 victory at MetLife Stadium.

Branch, who had five receptions for 58 yards, caught a pass after running a quick out to the left sideline, shook away from cornerback Kyle Wilson and walked into the end zone for an 8-yard score in the fourth quarter.

Then, the fun began. Branch was in the back-left corner of the end zone — right in front of Fireman Ed — where he imitated the fan's well-known chant. The Jets put Fireman Ed on the video boards countless times over the course of a game, and his ability to get the entire stadium (of nearly 80,000 fans) chanting "J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!" has become one of the NFL's most well-known traditions.

Branch wasn't cheering for the home team, but he mimicked Fireman Ed's hand gestures while celebrating a touchdown that all but put the Jets away.

"I just saw a lot of weird looks at me," Branch said of looking into the crowd. "It's all fun. I truly enjoy playing here. I love it. I love the way those [players] support their fans. That's always a great thing, and I think us, as visitors, we get up for games like this."

Branch said he didn't realize he was in Fireman Ed's corner of the stadium, but he looked up and saw him while doing the dance. Branch actually hoped to get an opportunity to meet him at some point down the line and noted, "There won't be any bad blood."

Branch had a few good laughs about the celebration in the locker room after the game, and he kept asking people if they enjoyed it or if he did alright with the unique end-zone dance. And whether or not it's believable, he claimed he didn't practice the celebration heading into the game.

"Just having fun, man," Branch said. "That's what it's all about — winning and having fun."
