In the dark days of the NBA lockout, many players are stepping up to host charity games, including Heat guard Mario Chalmers. Unfortunately for Chalmers, though, the biggest name in Miami may not be able to make it because of responsibilities to his two sons.
Chalmers' teammate, NBA superstar Dwyane Wade, was noncommittal when asked to play in the game taking place Dec. 1 at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
"I told him that's going to be tough," Wade said. "I got two boys that go to school, so when I make moves, they've got to be moves made because I have to. I told Mario, I said, 'Listen, I don't know if I'm going to be able to do it.' I'm not going to say no, but I'm not going to say yes."
Chalmers is playing in the game in Alaska, where he was discovered as a prep star. He's been inviting players that he's played with during his time at the University of Kansas and with the Miami Heat.
Carlos Boozer, the league's other player from Alaska, Kansas teammates Brandon Rush, Marcus and Markieff Morris, Julian Wright and Cole Aldrich, and Heat teammates Chris Bosh and Michael Beasley have already committed to playing.
