After two weeks of voting, Maple Leafs star Phil Kesselleads the way with more than 258,000 votes. Meanwhile, Seguin has more than 68,000 write-in votes and is in 22nd place for forwards.
Tim Thomas leads all goalies in voting while Zdeno Charais fourth for defenseman. The top vote-getters at each position (three forwards, two defensemen and a goalie) all receive invites, and the rest of the 36 roster spots are filled out by the NHL.
Patrice Bergeron and Milan Lucic are both in the hunt but may not earn their way on the roster through fan voting. Nathan Horton and David Krejci are on the ballot too but currently lag behind in votes.
Despite their slow start, the Bruins have earned points in 12 straight games and have a chance to reclaim first place in the Northeast division against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night. It stands to reason that they could also quickly build some late voting momentum as well and more players could find their way onto the voting leaderboard.
When all is said and done, it appears that the Bruins could have anywhere from zero to seven players representing the black and gold at the All-Star game. How many do you think will get the call?
